GB Cadets open European Baseball Championship Qualifier with win

The Great Britain Cadets baseball team (Under-15) began its campaign in the European Championship Qualifier in Nykoping, Sweden, with a 10-5 win over Slovakia on July 20.

GB Juniors: European Qualifiers Roster

The Great Britain Junior National Team faces a huge challenge when they compete at the CEB European Junior Qualifier in Attnang-Puchheim, Austria, from August 2 – 8. The winners of the tournament will qualify for the Championship in 2011; the GB Juniors last competed at the top level in 2006 having won the qualifier in Belgium in 2005.

GB Cadets: European Qualifiers Roster

The Great Britain Cadet National Team is currently preparing for the CEB European Cadet Qualifier in Nykoping, Sweden from July 19 – 24. Great Britain will face strong opposition from the tournament hosts, Sweden, as well as Lithuania, Slovakia and Ukraine with the winners qualifying for the European Championship in 2011. Great Britain lost to Ukraine in the final of the 2008 Cadet Qualifier.

Cadet and Junior teams offer tryouts for interested players

The Great Britain Junior (Under-18) and Cadet (Under-16) national baseball teams have announced tryout sessions for interested players. A southern tryout for both Juniors and Cadets will be held on Saturday, April 10, in Bracknell. A northern tryout for Juniors is confirmed for Saturday, March 27, in Manchester. Details of the northern Cadet tryout will be released soon but it is likely to be the weekend of April 24-25.

British Baseball Academy season gets underway

The British Baseball Academy will hold its first national training session this Sunday, November 1, at Upper Heyford in Oxfordshire.

The British Baseball Academy is a BaseballSoftballUK programme that exists to ensure that all players with the appropriate levels of commitment have an opportunity to practice and improve their baseball skills.
