Team GB has released the final (24-man) roster for the upcoming European Championships in Stuttgart, Germany. The competition runs from 23 July to 1 August, and Britain will play the first game of the event at 10:30am on the 23rd versus the Croatian National Team.
The roster contains players based all over the world, but notably has a strong contingent playing in the 2010 BBF National Baseball League, including two London Mets (George and Will Lintern) and four players from the national champion Bracknell Blazers (Henry Collins, Brendan Cunliffe, and Michael and Ryan Trask). One key player, catcher Mitch Evans, is a former London Warrior and will also be fulfilling a coaching role for the team.
The squad was selected by Head Coach Pat Doyle, Assistant Coach Sam Dempster, and General Manager Jason Greenberg (who manages the NBL Herts Falcons). The team Trainer is Alan Dean, who recently returned from work with the Great Britain Women’s Fastpitch Team at the ISF World Championships in Venezuela.
You can read more about the rostered players on the GB Squad page.
